😃 What may sound like a song from Daft Punk (“Harder, better, faster”, 2001), is actually a quote from the founder of the modern Olympic Games.
🧐 DID YOU KNOW…
Pierre de Coubertin of France (1863-1937), historian, educationalist and athlete, dreamt up the ambitious project of reviving the ancient Olympic Games, creating a modern version of the competition to promote healthy competitiveness, brotherhood and human values through sports. 💪😁✌️
With this purpose in mind, he founded the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in 1894 in Paris and drew the Olympic symbol: 5 interlaced rings to represent the union of the 5 continents. 🌍 The new Committee organised the first Olympic Games of modern times in Athens, Greece in 1896. That year marked the beginning of an extraordinary human adventure that has now lasted for over a century!

Le Français, Pierre de Coubertin (1863-1937), historien, pédagogue et athlète, a rêvé et réalisé l’ambitieux projet de raviver la flamme des Jeux Olympiques de l’Antiquité, en créant une version moderne de cette compétition , pour promouvoir un esprit de compétition sain, la fraternité et les valeurs humaines fondamentales à travers le sport. 💪😁✌️
Dans ce but, il a fondé le Comité International Olympique (CIO) à Paris en 1894 et a dessiné le symbole olympique : 5 anneaux entrelacés représentant l’union des 5 continents. 🌍 Le nouveau Comité a organisé les premiers Jeux Olympiques de l’ère moderne à Athènes (Grèce) en 1896. Cette année a marqué le début d’une aventure humaine exceptionnelle qui dure maintenant depuis plus d’un siècle ! 🥇🥈🥉
