🧐 FOCUS ON: Le Mont-Blanc / Ultra-Trail of Mont-Blanc (UTMB)
😮 The Mont-Blanc, also called « the roof of Europe », is a true icon and the birthplace of mountaineering. It culminates at 4,810m (height revised upwards in 2017). Experienced mountaineers can climb it from France, Switzerland or Italy.
🏆 The Ultra-Trail of Mont-Blanc (UTMB) is known as one of the most difficult trail-running races in the world. Every year, at the end of August, the main race follows the « Tour du Mont-Blanc » with a hiking trail which totals 170km and a 10,000m cumulative change in altitude! The trail is dotted with glaciers and many high-altitude passes, including the « Grand Col Ferret » culminating at 2,500m above sea level. One to avoid if you have fear of height… 😱😅

😮 Le Mont-Blanc, dit aussi « le toit de l’Europe », est une véritable icône. Ce pic, berceau de l’alpinisme, culmine à 4810m (hauteur réévaluée en 2017). Les alpinistes aguerris peuvent y accéder par la France, la Suisse ou l’Italie.
🏆 L’Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (UTMB) est réputé comme étant l’une des courses d’ultrafond les plus difficiles au monde. Chaque année, à la fin du mois d’Août, la course principale emprunte le Tour du Mont-Blanc avec un sentier de grande randonnée sur 170km et 10 000 mètres de dénivelé ! Le parcours est jalonné de glaciers et de nombreux cols d’altitude, y compris le Grand Col Ferret qui culmine à 2 500m de hauteur. De quoi donner le vertige… 😱😅
